Mufti is an experienced mining and natural resources and commercial lawyer. He was formerly a partner at Soemadipradja & Taher, an international associate at Herbert Smith Freehills, Australia, and worked as international counsel at Nauta Dutilh, Singapore. He also served as a non-executive director of two AXS-listed companies, Paramount Mining Corporation Limited and Prosperity Resources Limited, and as director of these companies in Indonesia, PT Paramindo and PT Prospindo.
During his private practitioner career, he has been involved in numerous mining and mineral exploration projects and corporate transactions, representing Indonesian and multinational mining and oil and gas companies.
Mufti obtained his Bachelor of Law degree in Economic Law from Padjadjaran University, Indonesia in 1996. He was admitted to practice before court in 2001. He is a member of the Indonesian Advocate Association (PERADI), International Bar Association (IBA) Energy and Resources Section, and the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators (AIPN). His writing accomplishments include: An Overview of Directors’ Liability in Indonesia, the IFLR Guide to Corporate Governance 2004, International Financial Law Review, published by Euromoney (co-written with Dezi Kirana); Historical Move for Indonesia’s Downstream Sector Activities, International Oil and Gas, Finance Review 2006, published by Euromoney; and Mining in Indonesia, a booklet issued by Soemadipradja & Taher following the promulgation of the new Indonesian Mining Law of 2009.
