
Yoga holds a law degree from the University of Lampung and a master’s in International Shipping Law from Queen Mary University of London under the Chevening Scholarship. He is an experienced Indonesian lawyer with extensive practice in national and international disputes, particularly in shipping and maritime matters.
He has led teams in complex court cases in Indonesia and worked with foreign lawyers and corporations in international forums, including the London Maritime Arbitrators Association and the Singapore International Arbitration Centre, especially on award enforcement in Indonesia.
Yoga has advised foreign shipping companies and P&I Clubs on matters such as shipbuilding, wreck removal, ship arrest and release, cargo claims, oil pollution, vessel transactions, and foreign investment.
He has also been engaged in public sector projects, notably advising the Indonesian Ministry of Transportation on the operation of a major Central Java port under a PPP scheme, helping structure collaboration between public and private sectors and assessing potential legal risks.
Most recently, Yoga was appointed by the Indonesian Supreme Court as a spokesman, supporting the Chief Justice in high-level meetings on court reform with UK judicial institutions including Her Majesty’s Courts and Tribunal Services, the UK Supreme Court, Royal Courts of Justice, and SIFoCC.
